Abstract
A detector, based on the principle of tensammetry, suitable for high speed high efficiency liquid chromatography in columns has been developed. Sensitivity, noise, linear dynamic range, speed of response, and selectivity are discussed. The tensammetric detector has been applied to the analysis in water of some industrial mixtures of surfactants of the polyethylene glycol monoalkyl ether type. Concentrations in the order of 30 ppb could be detected.
