Abstract
Few civilian wounds present more distressing or extensive destruction of tissue than do those caused by injudiciously used farm machinery. Nonfatal farm accidents most frequently involve the extremities; crushing injuries and thermal and electric burns are also common. All wounds received in farm accidents are grossly contaminated and carry with them real problems of tetanus and gas infection. The authors discuss the management of these injuries and suggest ways of decreasing the number of farm accidents. Keywords
