Immunochemical Studies of Foot-and-Mouth Disease

Abstract
Neutralization studies indicated that 19S guinea pig antibodies to foot-and-mouth disease virus were capable of differentiating two antigenic variants of the virus, whereas 7S guinea pig antibodies and 19S or 7S bovine antibodies were not. Absorption experiments demonstrated that the activity unique to the 19S guinea pig antibodies was not simply a reflection of differing amounts of neutralizing antibody.
