Abstract
Monocillium humicola is described as a new hyphomycete and compared with Monocillium indicum, the type. The relationships between Monocillium and reduced forms of Paecilomyces are discussed. Paecilomyces variabilis is described as a new species from soil which has a reduced conidiophore apparatus consisting largely of sessile phialides; it produces an antibiotic active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria but not against fungi. Keywords
