Abstract
Aeschynomene indica has recently been found to produce nitrogen-fixing upper stem nodules in the field under some undefined environmental conditions (1). We suspected that the upper stem nodules could be stimulated to develop under a condi tion where combined nitrogen is deficient in, but all other essential elements are adequately supplied to, the root environment. Keywords
