Abstract
An experiment was performed to determine the effects of a response-sophisticated model on the acquisition of a novel operant response (bar press) in the rat. Results are consistent with Bandura's social learning theory and suggest that previous studies may have confounded acquisition with performance in attempting to demonstrate observational learning in species other than man. Keywords
