Abstract
The electron-acceptor strengths of the substituted naphthoquinones were compared with that of p-chloranil in terms of their complexing properties. The following electron affinities were estimated: 2.05 eV for 2,3-dichloro-1,4-naphthoquinone, 2.24 eV for 2,3-dichloro-5-nitro-1,4-naphthoquinone, 2.74 eV for 2,3-dicyano-1,4-naphthoquinone, and 2.78 eV for 2,3-dicyano-5-nitro-1,4-naphthoquinone.This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
