Abstract
Summary: The virulence of a mouse-adapted strain of mumps virus has been increased so that it will kill nearly 100% of suckling mice 1 day of age. This virus has been successfully used in intracerebral neutralization tests. The titers of neutralizing antibodies obtained for human and animal mumps immune sera were considerably higher than those obtained in egg neutralization tests. Differences between egg and mouse neutralizations are discussed. Keywords
