Abstract
Topics discussed are: antero-posterior ability to regenerate the head with reference to morphological construction, number of anterior segments regenerated with respect to number removed, reorganizing influence of the head on postcephalic regions, relation of cephalic .segments to embryonic segments, role of the nervous system in annelid regeneration, post, regeneration, relation of formative cells and neoblasts to regeneration. The central problem in annelid regeneration is the formation of the head, since post, regeneration is identical with normal growth. Head regeneration is apparently not related to morphological construction or to particular histological elements but depends on physiol. conditions associated with antero-posterior axiation.
