Abstract
Before delivery the fetal cortex begins to differentiate into the adult form and is complete at 2-3 months postpartum, when a capsule, persisting to adolescence, is formed. In anencephalus the adrenals are hypoplastic, especially the inner zone of the cortex. The posterior pituitary is usually missing and the anterior hypophysis has many basophiles. Keywords
