Abstract
Polyethylene is the most popular and excellent material for electrical insulation. But on account of its poor resistance to oil, polyethylene is considered not suitable for the insulation of oil filled cable. We succeeded in developing a new modified polyethylene paper (FHCP), which has an extremely improved compatibility with oil, while retaining its excellent properties. This new paper will have the electrical and mechanical properties required for UHV cable insulation. Keywords
