Abstract
Low frequency vibrations of single crystal 4,4′‐dichlorobenzophenone (DCBP) have been determined by Raman spectroscopy and an analysis of the spectra is presented. In the temperature range 160–190 K two phase changes occur, a feature that is common to many organic molecular crystals and is quite likely due to conformational changes in individual molecules. These changes do not appear to alter the molecular symmetry, C2, or the space group C of the unit cell.
