Abstract
Multilayered and sandwiched ultra thin fcc-Fe/Cu films were prepared on the Cu(100) plane by the MBE method. The epitaxial growth of the films was observed by RHEED. The periodicity of the multilayered films was observed by X-Ray diffraction. Magnetization of the films was measured. All fcc-Fe films on Cu(100) showed ferromagnetism and the magnetic moment of an Fe atom was estimated at 2.0±0.2μB. The Curie temperature of the fcc-Fe is more than room temperature (568±5 K for [10 MLFe/10MLCu]20 and depends on the number of the Fe atom layers. Film less than 3 ML-Fe showed perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. Keywords
