Radioactivity ofTi44

Abstract
Ti44 has been produced by the Sc45(d, 3n)Ti44 reaction. The radiations of Ti44 were studied with gamma-scintillation spectrometers alone and in coincidence. A decay scheme is suggested in which Ti44 electron captures predominantly to a 144-kev level in Sc44 which in turn de-excites by two gamma rays in cascade. A Ti44 half-life of approximately 103 years is deduced.
