Abstract
Mature ovaries of the shore crab, C. maenas, contain large concentrations of 3 major ecdysteroids which were identified by physicochemical methods as ecdysone, 20-hydroxyecdysone and ponasterone A. The fluctuations of ovarian and blood ecdysteroid concentrations are presented in relation to the various stages of ovarian development. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
