Light scattering by liquid and solid sodium chloride. A simulation study

Abstract
The development of a computationally tractable model for the fluctuating polarization responsible for the light scattering by a condensed ionic system is described, and its application to NaCl in particular is considered. The model is then employed in molecular-dynamics simulation studies of the light scattering by liquid and solid NaCl and the results compared with experimental data on intensity, lineshape and polarization characteristics.
