Spin polarisation in elastic-positron-atom scattering

Abstract
Numerical results are presented for the phaseshifts of positrons which are elastically scattered from mercury atoms, in the energy range 35-800 eV. An extremely small maximum value for the amount of spin polarisation is found and a simple physical explanation of this effect is suggested.Keywords
