Abstract
From a colony of C. p. fatigans from Monrovia [Liberia] showing 21.6% susceptibility for W. bancrofti, a refractory strain, not highly susceptible, could be selected. Experiments to select a refractory strain out of the highly susceptible colony from Delhi [India] failed. In the mosquito population from Monrovia susceptible for W. bancrofti there is no dominating refractoriness. This is the case in the population from Delhi. There will be at least 2 genetic factors controlling susceptibility for W. bancrofti in C. p. fatigans.
