Abstract
"Flaxedil" (tri-(diethyl-aminoethoxy) benzene triethyliodide) is a cheap, synthetic curare-like drug which produces paralysis when given in a dose of 25 mg./10 lbs. body wt. It can be given intramusc. in aqueous soln., or darts can be tipped with a known amount of the dry material made up with an equal wt. of pharmacists'' glucose, and shot into the animal from a distance with an air rifle. "Tensilon" ( (3-hydroxyphenyl) dimethylethyl ammonium chloride) is a safe and effective Flaxedil antagonist in the dose of 2.5 mg./lO lbs. body wt. Curare and paraldehyde are unsatisfactory because of their small margins of safety. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
