Abstract
CLOSTRIDIUM infection after elective surgery is an unusual and unwelcome complication. Murray and Denton1 reported a fatal case that followed arthrodesis of a knee for tuberculosis. The etiologic agent, Clostridium tetani, was isolated from the plaster of Paris. The following case was due to Cl. welchii, similarly isolated from the plaster of Paris.Case ReportP.H., a 12-year-old boy, was admitted to St. Charles Hospital on May 10, 1961.
