Abstract
An extractive from the fruits of Piper peepuloides has been shown to be (+)-diaeudesmin, the first naturally occurring diaxially substituted 3,7-dioxabicyclo-[3,3,0]-octane, whose stereochemistry is shown by its 1H n.m.r. spectrum and optical rotation. Keywords
