Abstract
The near ultraviolet photorefractive properties of nominally undoped congruent and stoichiometric lithium tantalate crystals are compared. Nearly stoichiometric crystals show enhanced photorefractive two-wave mixing gain, faster response, and a drastically reduced photogalvanic field as compared to congruent crystalsKeywords
