Abstract
The authors briefly review the use of a random process and a dynamical system as mathematical models in the context of radar clutter. Experimental results are summarized for the correlation dimension of sea clutter, which provides an appropriate estimate for the embedding dimension of the process. The authors use the embedding dimension of sea clutter so estimated as a parameter in the design of a radial basis function (RBF) network for model reconstruction; here again experimental data are presented to support the theory. Keywords
