Abstract
Excision of preauricular sinus [in humans] by conventional methods is prone to recurrences. The injection of methylene blue into the tract, followed by purse-string closure of its orifice 3 days prior to the operation, together with the addition of a posterior drain has resulted in only 1 recurrence out of the 34 sinuses excised. The cosmetic result is satisfactory. Keywords
