I have read your article in the December issue criticizing non-objective art ["Beauty and Distortion," by V. S. Kemenov; the soviet review, December 1961; translated from Sovetskaya Kultura, Sept. 5, 1961]. Your thoughts interest me because I am both a painter and secondary school instructor in crafts. There are many people in both our cultures who would agree with your premise. I happen to be one who does not and consequently am taking this opportunity to communicate with you.
