Abstract
Superconducting copper‐rich composites containing V3Ga filaments have been prepared by a process which consists of melting the constituent elements into ingots followed by subsequent cold working and heat treatment. The composites were fabricated into 1×1‐mm rods, 0.25×3‐mm ribbons, and 0.4‐mm wires. The superconducting transition temperature is about 13 °K. The critical current density, Jc, at 4.2 °K and zero field is as high as 2.9×104 A/cm2 and decreases to 2×103 A/cm2 at 60 kG. Jc was found to decrease only slightly with temperature up to 9 °K.This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
