Abstract
The symmetry properties of nuclear wave functions and Hamiltonian operators with respect to the symmetric permutation group are discussed in order to get selection rules for the decay of a nucleus after absorption of an electromagnetic or mesonic radiation. As an illustrative example of the method we have studied a simple case of photodisintegration of the alpha-particle.Keywords
