Gleichgewichtsdiskussion zweier Photoredox-Systeme / Chemical Equilibria of two Photoredox Systems (Photoredox Systems), Thionin Type and Iodine Type)

Abstract
One of the main features in which reversible photoredox systems differ from each other is their stoichiometry. It is interesting to compare thionin type and iodine type reactions, which are two principally different systems: Absorption of one photon causes in the former transfer of one electron, while in the latter two electrons are exchanged. The dependence of the normalized concentrations versus the reduction degree differs completely in the two systems. Our comparison shows how valuable information is obtained by a careful inspection of the equilibrium situation.
