Abstract
One case of primary linitis plastica of the rectum is presented. Prior to this, only 22 cases had been reported in the medical literature. This adenocarcinoma occurs at an early age with symptoms occurring late in the course of the disease. Pathologically, this tumor is characterized by diffuse infiltration of the bowel wall by cells of the signet ring type. Prognosis is poor. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
