Abstract
We discuss various aspects of the design,implementation, and use of Silk, a general purposesimulation language based on the Java programminglanguage. Silk merges familiar process-orientedmodeling structures with powerful object-orientedlanguage features in an intelligent design that willencourage model simplicity and reusability.
