Application of electrooptic shutters in photorecording systems to visualize liquid films

Abstract
Visual investigation of a liquid film in a light emitting gas flow was carried out by means of synchronous photoexcitation and photorecording of fluorescence. The undesired exposure of the photorecording medium to the gas radiation was suppressed by a rapid electrooptic (EO) shutter made out of transparent ferroelectric ceramics of lanthanum modified lead zirconate-titanate (PLZT).
