Abstract
The technique of testing the validity of phase equilibria by applying thermodynamic consistency tests is highly developed for vapor‐liquid equilibria. The application to solid‐liquid equilibria, howerver, has been developed very little. The problems associated with thermodynamic consistency tests are discussed and a new technique for evaluating the validity of experimental data has been developed. Several possible test equations are presented and are applied to test the consistency of three sets of solid‐liquid equilibrium data. Keywords
