Abstract
Recently, many kinds of cyclodextrin (CyD) derivatives have been prepared to improve the physicochemical properties and inclusion capacity of parent CyD as novel drug carriers. These chemically modified CyDs can be divided into three groups; i.e., hydrophilic, hydrophobic, and ionizable derivatives. Among the possible uses of CyD derivatives in pharmaceutical formulations, solubilization, stabilization, modification of release and absorption rates, and detoxication of drug molecules in various administration routes will be described, anticipating the development of advanced dosage forms. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
