Abstract
In competitive experiments styrene increases the rate of epoxidation of aliphatic alkenes by the mono-oxygenase model (meso-tetraphenylporphyrinato)manganese(III) chloride–sodium hypochlorite; this effect is caused by phenylacetaldehyde, which is formed as a side-product of styrene epoxidation.Keywords
