Abstract
The instrument records sulphur dioxide conductimetrically in the range 0.01 to 10 parts per million where rapid changes in concentration can be expected but the accuracy required is not more than 1 in 20. Sampling is continuous and cumulative, with a return to initial conditions two or three times an hour. The principle of operation is the removal of a soluble vapour from an air jet impinging on to an unbroken liquid surface. One modification of the instrument measures light absorption instead of conductivity, permitting the use of colorimetric reagents. Keywords
