NEUTROPENIA IN AN INFANT SECONDARY TO HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE THERAPY: WITH A REVIEW OF HEMATOLOGIC REACTIONS TO "THIAZIDE" DRUGS

Abstract
A 10-month-old infant had an asymptomatic maturation arrest of granulopoiesis secondary to hydrochlorothiazide therapy. In view of the absence of symptoms in this case and the possible lethal consequences, periodic examinations of the blood in patients receiving long-term "thiazide" treatment appears to be warranted.
