Abstract
Bubble transport measurements, in which the effect of the radial motion on the effective drive field was incorporated theoretically, have previously been described. These earlier data revealed that excessive scatter in the velocity occurred when the bubble became elliptically unstable. The more complex mechanism of ’’dynamic conversion’’ was not required to explain the scatter. In the present work, the technique has been applied to ion‐implanted films of (YLaTm)3(FeGa)5012 and (YEuTm)3(FeGa)5012 which have higher and lower mobilities, respectively, than the samples used previously. In each instance, the velocity data became anomalous when the bubble was in the run‐out region, in agreement with the previous results. The origin of the spread in velocities is shown to arise from the mechanics of the stripping‐out motion. Keywords
