The component acids of some seal blubber and liver fats

Abstract
The component acids of the blubber glycerides of 2 specimens of the common seal (Phoca vitulina) were not dissimilar, but differed considerably from that of the gray seal (Halichoerus grypus). The liver lipids of seals also appear to differ in amount and in their composition. Contrary to what was observed in the gray seal, the liver glycerides of the common seal are very similar in composition to its blubber oil. So far, no correlation has been discernible between the composition of the liver glycerides and the glycerides of the flesh, head or other tissues of marine animals which may function as fat depots.
