Abstract
Shortly after the recognition of the pattern of bundle branch block in the animal and human electrocardiogram,1 it was demonstrated that such patterns were often associated with lesions of one or both branches of the bundle of His.2 Many investigators demonstrated that the presence of bundle branch block in the electrocardiogram was generally associated with a diseased heart.3, 4 Although many reports of bundle branch block have appeared in otherwise normal persons,5, 6 the majority of patients showing this pattern have definite cardiac involvement.7, 8 The nature and significance of transient or paroxysmal bundle branch block were not clearlyKeywords
