Abstract
Leaving the field in qualitative research can be thought about in different ways. When reflecting on leaving the field in my own research, three questions come to mind. The first question relates to how and when to conclude a study, that is, to stop collecting data and to begin the serious work of intensive analysis and writing. The second has to do with how to manage the personal relationships formed with one's subjects or informants.
