Theory of the quasiparticle interference patterns in the pseudogap phase of the cuprate superconductors
Abstract
We show that quasiparticle interference patterns observed in the recent Fourier transform scanning tunneling spectroscopy experiments depend critically on the quasiparticle coherence factors, with the implication that the observed peaks are uniquely characteristic of the superconducting correlations. On this basis we propose a stringent test for the nature of the pseudogap phase in cuprates. Keywords
