Abstract
Pictures and concrete objects serve to communicate mathematics in a way that words and symbols do not match. Some students claim that many concepts are understood only when they are illustrated through objects, diagrams, or pictures. A study of individual abilities suggests that these students might benefit most from drawings which they themselves produce. Keywords
