Abstract
A discussion with 54 references in which recent concepts of CCl4-induced liver damage are defined and placed in perspective in terms of mechanism of action. The effect of CCl4 on mitochondrial function is delineated, and the role of the sympathetic nervous system in such liver pathology is examined. The alterations which occur in liver morphology following administration of CCl4 are summarized. Keywords
