Infection with Cysticercus cellulosae

Abstract
CYSTICERCUS cellulosae, the systemic form of infection with the larvae of the pork tapeworm, is rarely diagnosed in this country.1 There are only sporadic reports of native-born persons who contracted the disease without having traveled abroad.2 , 3 However, with increasing world travel, the disease will be encountered with greater frequency.The following case illustrates the neurologic manifestations of C. cellulosae in a young Mexican immigrant, and the value of at least one course of treatment with a vermifuge despite persistently negative stool examinations.Case ReportE.M.
