Abstract
The scattering of plane‐circularly polarized magnetoelastic and elastic waves from a discontinuity surface is analyzed. The magnetic and elastic boundary conditions at the surface of a ferromagnetic medium used in the scattering analysis are discussed. The theory is used to explain certain echos observed in magnetoelastic‐elastic delay lines, and new experiments are described in which magnetoelastic waves propagating in a YIG cylinder are scattered to elastic waves propagating in a rutile cylinder. This publication has 20 references indexed in Scilit:
