Abstract
It is recognized that effective quality control procedures are essential if analysis is to produce data that are fit for their purpose. This paper outlines the practical approaches to quality control. The control of random error using replication of analysis is described. Different types of reference materials are discussed as a means of controlling systematic error. Keywords
