Abstract

Angiotensin is an important regulator of blood pressure and exerts both pressor actions and influences growth in the cardiovascular system via the AT₁ receptor. This review describes a number of signalling mechanisms involved in vasoconstriction and growth in response to AT₁ receptor activation in vascular smooth muscle.
