Abstract
Platelet aggregation studies with adenosine diphosphate, collagen, and epinephrine were performed using plasma from 21 patients with various myeloproliferative disorders. The curves were quantitated by measuring several variables and comparing them with values in specimens from a group of normal subjects. In plasma specimens from patients with agnogenic myeloid metaplasia, primary thrombocythemia, or polycythemia vera, aggregation with epinephrine was strikingly abnormal. Lesser abnormalities of aggregation were found in plasma of patients with chronic granulocytic leukemia. Severe deficiencies of aggregation were evident on gross inspection; it remains to be seen whether this type of quantitation will be clinically useful. Keywords
