Abstract
The effects of cholic acid, beta-sitosterol and ferric chloride on the accumulation of liver cholesterol were studied in groups of mice fed cholesterol-rich diets. The data showed that increasing percentages of cholic acid increased total liver cholesterol. Addition of beta-sitosterol to diets containing cholic acid and cholesterol decreased total liver cholesterol. However, addition of ferric chloride in varying amounts to similar diets resulted in no change in total liver cholesterol content.Keywords
