Abstract
Productivity improvement efforts often neglect two critical aspects concerning organizational management: impacts on organizational redevelopment and effects on personnel management practices. Strategies for improving management, human resources management, and enhancing quality of worklife are examined. The implications for personnel policies, compensation and classification, employee motivation, performance review, and labor-management relations are highlighted as critical factors in the success or failure of a productivity improvement effort.
